erm.. no more promises

yeap, I've long left paramount kings' dominion and is actually now on my 2nd last day of travelling in US already. So much for wanting to blog one last time before I leave work. Sad.. nevertheless I shall try to reminisce the unforgettable moments and drama I've been through. oh yes, for starters...

1. I got kicked out of a club. Immediately after that ridiculous moment, both my friends told me that it's a blog worthy experience. For me, it's just totally embarrassing and stupid because alot of the cause was my fault. But maybe I'll feel less lousy after letting it out. ugh, it still bugs me cos it happened just 4 days ago. Basically, we were queueing for this club Pure (in Caesar's) in vegas. We've waited for two and a half hours before eventually getting to the front of queue. Well, even though it was a really long wait the line was constantly moving so it wasn't that bad. But somehow when we were at the front of line (actually second to this other group of asian girls in front of us), we were trapped there for a whole half hour, with people cutting in front of us from the outside time to time. They were also somehow busy shuffling people in from all other entrances - celebs (saw bald lex luther from smallville and cuba gooding jnr), re-entries, vip queue lines but just totally ignoring us. It was so frustrating! Felt like we were 2nd class citizens and thought we were totally being discriminated. At this moment, one of those bouncer lookin dudes actually came over and said these 3 golden words to our queue's bouncer: "HOLD THE LINE". What the hell! More waiting?! That really got me boiling. My friend tried to ask him how long more we have to wait and I just shot "Are we being discriminated here?!"

So. Stuuuupid.

Even though I still feel the same way and I was really that pissed. But aiyah, I really should have known better. Who's to say he's wrong and I'm right in a situation like this. Yup, and he agreed that I was stupid to say that and he, who happens to be the director of the club, asked that 'my party and I' get out of the line. I tell ya.. that feeling just sucks la. Was so guilty for having my friends to wait in vain but at the same time infuriated at somebody who abuses his power like he's king. Argh, didn't wanna go into that club at all after that and actually felt abit satisfied for lashing out before we left that stupid queue!

Probably because of this my impression of vegas is quite bad. The hotels and casinos are really an eye opener but u can't help but feel that the city gets alittle pretentious at times.

2. Missing my flight in Florida. Never missed a plane before in my life. Never even dreamt about it. Thank god there was a number of us who missed it together. It was really a frenzy though. I got separated from my group when I was slower for check in. Turns out I couldn't run for it too cos I got a wrong boarding pass, my friend was holding on to mine. Really unlucky cos we almost made it. 3 of them were on the plane already but they had to get off in the end cos of this. Shall elaborate if I have the mood next time..hehe.. florida was a pretty dramatic experience of extreme good and bad luck!

3. Driving for the 1st time! No way I'll have that chance with my dad's car in singapore.

4. Barbequeing in the wild. A group of us took a road trip up to the blue ridge mountains in virginia. This really isn't as cool as it sounds though. Firstly, there is no such thing as road lamps in the wilderness of USA and we actually went during nightfall. We couldn't see anything if not for the fire we've built. Then just before we reached the place, our dear friends in another car told us they saw a bear attempting to cross the road. nice. So for most of the night we were eating half cooked food - because we can't see if they cooked ornot until we bite it! - and half afraid a bear might just come running at us. Our hands were also close to being burnt by the fire cos we didn't have skewers.. some of us resorted to using branches we found on the floor instead. How close to the wild can we get! Yeah, it was fun. Not perfect.. but I really like how things worked out still in the end. =p

5. Catching fireflies. Also another first for me. =)

6. Finally watched phantom in NYC! wanted to catch it since I was 12. still remembered clearly how my primary school teacher was promoting it and I was too young and too poor to go catch it.

7. Seeing Niagara Falls. It's really beautiful.. U can almost always catch a rainbow in the day at the falls.

8. The Russians. Fighting for seats on the bus back to our dorm with our fellow russians associates is yet another ridiculous but very real experience at work. Both sides really show no mercy. Blame it on the fatigue from work that we want to get a seat that badly, we mob the bus before it parks and we push and squeeze like crazy to get up. Sometimes, people even accidentally get punched in the process. It's really ugly!

Got to know how creative their self-entertainment can get though. Saw them using towels to spar each other in their after work. And they really beat each other up real good. Bruises and all. Entertaining.

9. Baseball matches. Chill out and fun!

Ok gotta go, it's like 4am now. There's definitely still a list to go.. shall add them on the next time.. ciao.
