My past is catching up on me

Just felt so trapped when they asked us to choose an english name for ourselves. O_O

A peek of the rides at the amusement park. This is the anaconda. I haven't been able to sit on the rides but boy do they look scary.

A sweet surprise from new found friends who still remembered after a long day of crazy work at the park. U can also catch a glimpse of the hotel room and me in uniform! :D

it's all good =)

boy, it's really tough to keep up with a blog overseas. With a large group of youngsters around, somehow we just had to get out everyday and stay up late every night. But it's been really fun. =) My memory is failing me so I'm probably going to let the pictures tell the story..

So, rumour has it that u can't even poke your fork into the chicken on the china airline's but the food really wasn't too bad this time. As long as we don't crash, I'm thankful. The best part was the stopover at Alaska though, the snow mountains were breathtaking.

After a grueling 18 hours flight with 2 stopovers at taipei and anchorage, I've finally arrived at JFK, New York.

We were lucky to be staying at a hotel for the first two weeks of our stay as the university dorms are still occupied. Complete with a queen sized bed and TV, it is nice. Speaking of TV, it's been a crazy time for a download queen like me. I get to watch the apprentice, desperate housewives and lost at direct telecast baby! Wahaha. And it's cool that there are so many other singaporeans who are as crazy or even more addicted as me. Group "discussions" da bomb. hah. Transportation is a hassle cos we are in a semi-rural area for now. The cab fare jumps at 40cents every mile. But that certainly didn't deter me from doing some quick shopping and some of them are really at impossible prices.

Like this! The megasized one is only 3 USD while the other one costs around $16 bucks from singapore.

And this. USD$2.76 for haagen-dazs is just insane.
Ok photos time.. I'm getting exhuasted..

Beautiful flowers, non-existent bus-stop along the road, great ice-cream from coldstone creamery and adorable angmoh kids (2 of which are twins).

Most of the gang from singapore amongst the red roses in full bloom.

You know how popular fortune cookies are in this country. Apparently, a great surprise awaits me.

My first lottery scratch card in USA and I won! Two dollars, but I guess I still had better luck than two of my friends who didn't. Hiak!

Some scary weather we encountered in virginia. This was on our way to dinner when friends who stayed at the hotel informed us that east virginia was experiencing tornados. God.

And you probably won't believe this. MAHJONG is in da HOUSE!!!!!!! Incorrigible gambers we are.

Pardon me for all the psuedo black lingo. I promise it won't last. Finally, many thanks to the tired souls who sent me off at the airport! That night was fantastic. Am sure you guys are playing and training hard!
